Behind Bars

I'm obsessed with American prison documentaries like 'Lock Up' and 'Behind Bars' and as I'm not able to go and photograph the inmates myself I tried to experiment with photographing the programmes.

Rose and Tel

This idea came from a dating website when looking at all the endless profiles. I started thinking about how you get a first impression from someone and how it would then be to meet them and see what they were like in 'real life'.  I was lucky enough to meet Rose and Tel who let me come and spend some time with them at a very intimate meeting in order to observe and capture a little but of them in a few hours.

Atherfield Bay

On a shoot at a derlict holiday camp on the Isle of Wight - the theme was Homoerotic Teddy Boys!! I've tried to edit the photos as well to give them a slightly older style.

Days gone by

As part of my final exhibition for my foundation, I used an audio recording of my grandad, where he started to tell me about how men would put hankies in their hand when dancing with a lady so as not to put a sweaty hand their dress. It was such a lovely image as I thought about it so I decided to do a shoot based on the idea.

Elijah Kerr and PDC

I got in contact with Elijah Kerr/Jaja after seeing a documentary about him and his former street gang, now record label PDC. He has been fantastic in letting me go up and photograph him in the studio and also have the oppurtunity of going along to a video shoot for artist Marcus Jordan who is signed to his label.

Weights Room

Samsons Gym / The Weights Room in Eastleigh were really good about letting me come and get some practice in there - I was quite nervous the first time I went as it was my first time shooting somewhere where I didn't know anyone but I was so grateful for how obliging and nice everyone was.

Night Shelter

These photos were taken at a local night shelter. This lot of photos are a small selection taken during the day when the building is empty. I have since been back and photographed some of the residents which I will upload asap...

Legs eleven!

This is some work I did a few months ago now, but they are some of my favourite images that I've taken. Me and my daughter went to stay with my Nan, a few of the residents in her building meet up on a Friday night and play Bingo and they were kind enough to let me come along and practice on them...
